Airport Security Tips

  • Maintain control and do not leave personal items (purses, briefcases, electronic equipment, carry-on bags, etc.) unattended at any time in the airport or at curbside.
  • Passengers are not allowed to enter areas posted as Restricted Area or Authorized Personnel Only.  Please request assistance from nearest airport personnel or Miami-Dade Airport Police.
  • Report unattended items or suspicious activity immediately to airline personnel or Miami-Dade Airport Police at (305) 876-7373.

Passenger Security Screening Checkpoints

  • In accordance with the Aviation and Transportation Security Act of 2001, as of February 17, 2002, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) became responsible for the management and operation of the passenger security screening checkpoints at all U. S. airports.
