Jesus Valderrama serves as Facilities Maintenance Division Director for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, responsible for directing and coordinating facilities maintenance and support functions for all five Miami-Dade County airports: Miami International Airport; Miami-Opa locka Executive; Miami Executive; Homestead General;, and Dade-Collier Training and Transition. Mr. Valderrama oversees 12 diverse sections staffed with 160 professional and technical personnel in support of the following areas of responsibilities: air conditioning; airfield lighting; building management controls; electrical, fire suppression; fleet management; generators; lift stations; plumbing; lock shop; high mast and street lighting re-lamping; terminal and cargo air conditioning; and video services.

Mr. Valderrama has over 31 years of professional construction contract management experience, including 20 years with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), managing construction and maintenance projects for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, supervising area engineers, project managers and inspectors. He has also has over 10 years of experience engineering planning and development with Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) as the Department’s Contract Services Division Chief. His technical background and extensive knowledge of Federal Transit Administration regulations were key contributing factors in delivering contract services, technical assistance and overall support to MDT for various types of architectural and engineering professional services agreements, construction and goods and services contracts

Mr. Valderrama is a certified general contractor in the State of Florida, and holds a master’s degree in engineering management and a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Florida International University, as well as an associate in arts degree in civil engineering from Miami Dade College.
