Dreaming in shades of green
Amanda Bradley
March 2025 - September 8, 2025
Dreaming in shades of green is an exhibition that centers the color green as a study of abundance and freedom. Lush, overgrown landscapes reveal a spectrum of memories that recall visions of a world that lives freely. This exhibition comes from an ongoing body of work that thinks critically about the power and memory of landscape and how we navigate our own personal histories with landscape acting as an imagined ancestor.
Bradley uses photography as a language where the camera becomes a tool for note-taking, discovery, questioning, and relationship-building. Together, the works form a visual poem that expresses a deep connection to landscape, nature, and the sensations that come from being present in the moment.
Amanda Bradley is a Belizean American artist and curator based between Miami and Belize. She received a BFA in Photography from New World School of the Arts. Her work explores place and landscape as a means to connect and understand identity, belonging, histories, and relationships. Photographs are central to the work, which sometimes expands to include installation, video and other alternative forms of printing and photographic processes. Her work has been included in exhibitions internationally. Bradley was a Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) Artist-in-residence in Suriname in 2023, WOPHA Artist-in-residence at Faena in 2020, and participated in the Home + Away residency at Atlantic Center for the Arts with Oolite Arts in 2019. She is a recipient of the 2025 and 2024 Catalyst Award from DVCAI and a two-time Suncoast Regional Emmy award-winning producer.
