Windows to the World: Where I Live
On view from November 13 – January 21, 2025
Miami International Airport’s MIA Galleries in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools Division of Life Skills & Special Projects.
Through the ages, some artists have been inspired by their surroundings and the locations where they have lived. Van Gogh’s Café Terrace at Night and The Church at Auvers; Cezanne’s Mont Sainte-Victoire; Christina’s World by Andrew Wyeth; Monet’s Impression, Sunrise; Vermeer’s The Little Street; and American Gothic by Grant Wood, were all locations that were significant in the lives of these artists.
This exhibition invites K-12 students to explore their surroundings and local communities, capturing these places through the creation of original 2D artwork.
